Podcast: Dome and Bedlam Podcast

D&B 27: Mike Duncan & the All-Time Mariner Draft

Folks it’s a hot one, and we’ve got two hours of piping hot content for your ears. David and Nathan got up early on a SUNDAY to record with this week’s guest, joining us all the way from the catacombs of the American Library in Paris, France: podcaster, New York Times Bestselling Author, and Howard Schultz Political Platform Opposer Mike Duncan.

D&B 26: Dome And Divish

Well you all asked for guests and WOW did our guest deliver. Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times joins us for a dirty dalliance with the Mariners of yesteryear, today, and tomorrow.

Want to know who Ryan disliked back in the Day? Ever wondered about Dustin Ackley’s reading habits? What about Padres’ GM A.J. Preller’s jump shot? This and so, so, so much more.

D&B 25: Banana Pancakes

You have invited Episode 25 of the Dome and Bedlam audio podcast into your ear house. What happens next is not our fault, but yours. You put a rabid honey badger in the linen store, there’s gonna be a mess.

0:00 – 40:00 Breaking down the last month of Mariner news – The Santana/Encarnacion acquisitions, Kikuchi’s signing changing the tenor of the offseason, reasons to spend now and minimize the rebuild time, and how to split your brain into rooting for the players, when the organization is so difficult to cheer for.

41:00-1:08:00 TWITTER Q&A! Mariners has A-gap blitzers, French Dip Vs. Pulled Pork, Scott Servais replacements, Coug slander, etc.

D&B 24: The Griffey Spectacular

All it took was maybe the most completely disastrous three months in the history of the Mariners’ franchise to summon us from our blissful slumber! Here are the things discussed in this episode

-The Mariners, now hear us out, are bad
-Jerry Dipoto is Dutch van der Linde
-The rebuild is good but also not good because it’s only good if you do it good, so do it good
-Definitive scarf takes
-Something called a “Tie Bar”?
-YOUR Q&A
-The Mariners are bad

D&B 23: The Jordan

Hi and/or hello you to, dear listener! Dome and Bedlam has returned from a (for us) brief hiatus to pronounce the death of the 2018 Seattle Mariners. Now, wait, hear us out, we swear this isn’t more mindless complaining. In fact one of us wasn’t even drinking during this recording (see if you can spot which one!).

Scott, David, and Nathan talk about how the Mariners got here, the challenge of the future, and the frustrating mediocrity at the very core of this franchise’s DNA.

D&B 22: El Scorcho (LIVE!)

Nathan, Scott, and David all assemble for a special ALMOST LIVE! episode from Branchwater in Seattle. The Mariners had a big lead in the Wild Card race and now they do not, so discussions are had. Also, Scott Servais, Felix, and what the fuck is happening, question mark. A completely off-the-rails discussion of MLB realignment, your Twitter Q&A, and a most likely false promise to return in two to three weeks.

Please enjoy and forgive the background noise, we did our best, which is almost always half-assed.

D&B 21: RAMPOD

DAVID had to go WORK by pouring his BEER at a LOCAL WATERING HOLE so it’s just Scott and Nathan. The duo talk the Robinson Cano suspension/injury, Dee Gordon returning to second base, the Mariners fun first forty games, and more. BONUS, we think you’ll be surprised by the off brand positive tone.

D&B 20: Ohtani Bombs

Wow after running an exhaustive guest appearance circut the boys, finally, are back in town. Nathan, David, and Scott break down the Mariners first week. We are here to praise Mitch Haniger and Robinson Cano, but also yowza Ichiro is the DH.

MORE IMPORTANTLY we welcome a prestigious guest. The Czar of Badness, Baron Von S-Curve, DJ Twerk Life Balance himself, the Social God Scott George.

D&B 19: Blood for the Blood God

Let’s catch up on injuries! Between last week and this, the Mariners have lost 3-4 players to injury including their presumptive fourth starter, and their star second baseman and designated hitter. This, this is not good!

David, Scott, and Nathan talk about that, the free agent market finally shaking out a bit, and try to figure out what’s worse: Offering Jon Jay a three-year contract, choosing a 44-year old Ichiro over Jon Jay, or having a need for Jon Jay in the first place?

Additionally, we answer your questions, including trying to get to the bottom of the TRIDENT CURSE.

D&B 18: Ichiro? ICHIRO! Ichiro…..

THE MARINERS ARE SIGNING ICHIRO! Yeah, uh, well that’s not a great idea. Nathan, David, and Scott convene for an emergency broadcast to collectively roll eyes, talk about what this could portend for Jerry Dipoto, reminisce a bit, and come up with a few #fun #facts.

Want to feel great about Ichiro coming back? Awesome, by all means do so and have a great time. To a certain extent, that’s our plan too. But bringing back a 44-year old outfielder when Jon Jay gets 1 year 3 million dollars makes it pretty clear where the scales are balanced for Mariner ownership. What a pity.
