Music Fridays Playlist: Delectable Debuts

New year, new you, same old us. The 2022 season of Mariners baseball is about to peek over the horizon and we are all here together to bask in its glow — for better or worse. After a longer (and in many ways darker) offseason than normal, Mariners fans may actually have some pretty cool things to look forward to this year. Robbie Ray, Adam Frazier, Jesse Winker, and Eugenio Suárez form a groovy group of new kids on the block who could provide plenty of thrills and fireworks for this team. And then, of course, there’s Julio.

In a few short hours, Julio Rodríguez will be making his much-anticipated major league debut. This young man carries massive expectations on his shoulders, and his performance could go a long way toward finally ending the Mariners decades-long playoff drought. Here’s hoping he starts off fast and doesn’t look back.

Speaking of getting off to a fast start, today’s playlist features songs off of debut albums that ROCK (or bop or sway or strut, depending on the genre). These artists came out swinging and made some kickass first impressions. Dear Julio: It would be very cool if you could follow suit.
