We’re thrilled to be here for (at least!) one more year and we hope you are, too.
Now, on to the tunes.
The Tampa Bay Rays (43-27) come to town this weekend, bringing with them Seattle’s very good and very strong ex-catcher Mike Zunino. After a fairly forgetful couple seasons in Tampa, Zunino has emerged as a significant piece of the Rays’ success in 2021, rocking a 1.7 fWAR (5th among MLB catchers) and .309 ISO (2nd). As strong supporters of everything Zunino, we felt now would be an appropriate time to run the first Friday Morning Music Thread of the season. Welcome home, Mike. Please hit ten solo dingers this weekend, all in blowout losses to the Seattle Gosh Dang Mariners.
The official theme of this playlist is “songs that remind you of Florida and/or Mike Zunino.” Which songs remind you of The Sunshine State and Seattle’s Strongest Son? Let us know in the comments!
